Tropical and Floral Wall Inspiration

I am absolutely in love with tropical and floral decor! I have in fact some banana leaf inspired cushions at home. We have in fact seen a tropical trend going around (i.e. H&M Home). In fact, we can take the trend a step further and incorporate it onto our walls. Unsurprisingly, like many things do, this idea started when I found this image on Pinterest –

Absolutely stunning!

My mum, like myself is loving this trend too. One idea we have is to update this narrow wall we have with a tropical/floral design. Currently, it’s covered with a wine-red, white flowers wallpaper. I’ll be sure to share with everyone here the before and after once it’s done. Before we updated the space though, we of course went online to get some inspiration. These are just some of the few pictures we found – enjoy and be inspired!

You’ll notice that for this trend, you’re free to use either a wall mural, wallpaper or even hand-paint such designs onto your wall. It boils down to a matter of preference and which design you fancy.

A quick way to give off the British Colonial decor feel

Here are some pictures from Anewall – a Canadian-based company making high-quality wall art decor. Good news, they do ship internationally. I adore their designs! Some of my favs are –

If you’re interested in finding more inspiration I suggest you have a look around Etsy for floral wallpapers. Wallflorashop is a fantastic site with loads of tropical and floral style wallpapers. I found myself falling in love with so many of their designs.

If you’re in Malaysia, my suggestion is to go to your local wallpaper shop to see what options they have available. What my mum and I are thinking of doing is to design our own mural and ask the shop to make one for us. Depending on the size of your wall, it can range from RM500 – RM2000. Or if you happen to have a painter as a friend, commission them to paint a custom piece for you. If you happen to know any local sources around South East Asia that make beautiful tropical and floral wall prints, do share!

If you’re keen on this, there’s a part 2 coming soon!
