My Top 3 Interior Design & Decor Books

As an avid fan of interior design and decor, there are many books out there you can read and get inspiration from. Not to mention, many of these books are beautifully made, making them perfect candidates to display on your shelf or coffee table.

Below are my top 3 interior design and decor books to-date:

Live Beautiful by Athena Calderone

Athena or better known as EyeSwoon is a multidisciplinary creator with an eye for design and all things swoon-worthy. I remember roaming around Pinterest and coming across this stunning kitchen – if you know, you know. One click led to another, soon enough I found myself on her Instagram and was so inspired by her. Live Beautiful is her book providing insights into how interior designers and creatives decorate their spaces. There are a variety of styles within this book, each swoon-worthy in their own way. I always go back to this book to feel inspired.

Homebody: A Guide to Creating Spaces You Never Want to Leave by Joanna Gaines

My mother and I, we both love watching home decor shows and was fortunate to have HGTV on our local cable. Fixer Upper nailed it when it came to designs we both loved! Joanna to me is amazing and I love her style. There’s something about farmhouse meets rustic weaved in a way to make the space feel cosy. Rightfully so, through her book Homebody, Joanna guides us through on how we can create spaces that reflect our personalities and styles. It is highlight insightful with many tips. Best of all, she tackles it room-by-room.

Travel Home by Caitlin Flemming & Julie Goebel

Found this gem of a book in Kinokuniya, KLCC as I was browsing through the many design books there. The words Travel + Home caught my eye. Both of these words mean so much to me and truly reflect my personality. This book highlights the intersection of travel and design, revealing how we can take inspiration from the beauty we experience in the world and authentically incorporate this into the spaces where we live and work.  I’ve been blessed and fortunate to have travelled around the world. Each place and country has influenced me in some way, reshaping what I view as beautiful. That has also now translated into my home.

Tell me, what are your favourite books that have inspired you? Also, if you would like a more in-depth review for each book, do let me know. I’m happy to go in more detail.

Sincerely,
Diyana
